Pattern Geraldine in Orange and Purple

As you can see from this first photo, calling this "Pattern Geraldine in Orange and Purple" is a bit of a misnomer. I used 4 tubes of pigment for this painting - yellow and pink (blended together to make shades of orange), with the occasional brown mixed in if I needed a darker orange, and purple. Orange is one of those colors that's really hard to get straight out of a tube for whatever reason, so it's best just to mix your own sometimes.

Like other recent paintings, this one is also 8"x10" in size. I designed the pattern in Adobe Illustrator, traced it onto watercolor paper, and started painting!

Parts of the painting are more orange, while other areas are actually rather pink (especially where I was trying to blend the orange into purple):

Here is the finished painting, still taped down while it finishes drying:

And here is the finished watercolor, untaped, with all stray pencil lines erased:

This particular painting is not yet listed for sale on Etsy, but in the meantime, check out the several watercolor sets of patterned paintings I do have in my Etsy shop - framed and ready to hang!
