New Abstract Leaf Notecards Set

I promise this is my last blog post featuring notecard designs for awhile! :)

I just wanted to highlight one more new notecard set available in my Etsy shop - a set of 8 cards with abstract leaf designs.

The original artwork for these cards were mixed media pieces ranging in size from 8"x10" to 4"x6". They were created by collecting dry leaves in the fall, painting the leaves with watercolor and using them to "stamp" designs onto watercolor paper, and adding choice lines with colored pencil to draw attention to certain shapes, fill in missing areas, and add a feeling of the crunchy, crisp texture of leaves in autumn. I created these back in 2015 (where they were a reprise of a similar piece of art I created in 2005-2006 in high school), loved how they turned out, and even scanned them so I could make notecards of them, but never got around to making said notecards until now.

Unlike all my other pre-selected notecard variety packs, this one does not have all different designs. There are 8 cards in the pack, but only 4 designs - you receive 2 cards of each design.

Abstract Patterned Notecards - Fun Color Combinations

I've already talked about the "warm color" and "cool color" patterned stationery sets I have available: red-orange, pink-purple, blue-purple, blue-green, yellow-green, brown, and tan. All of these feature really unique color schemes, often combining both warm and cool colors in the same design for a bright, vibrant color palette.

I recently posted that I had several new pre-selected variety packs of abstract pattern notecards now available in my Etsy shop, in addition to the U-Pick option, which lets you create your own variety pack (or order 6, 8, or 10 notecards all in the same design). Today I'm going to showcase four of those pre-selected abstract pattern variety packs, all featuring warm colors: reds, oranges, pinks, pinkish or reddish purples, and warm neutrals like browns and tans.

U-Pick Abstract Notecards

I recently added a bunch of new notecard inventory to my Etsy shop, including new designs featuring many of the abstract watercolor paintings I created in 2019. These watercolors ranged in size (4"x6", 5"x7", and 8"x10") and were done in a variety of coordinating color schemes. As I do with much of my artwork, I scanned each painting and adjusted the size to fit on a notecard, so they could be printed on demand when purchased on Etsy.

There are now 88 different abstract pattern design notecards available in my Etsy shop, in nearly every color imaginable. I created several pre-selected variety packs focusing on different color schemes (e.g. a blue-green pack, a tan pack, a pink-purple pack, etc.) - and I'll discuss all of those options in a few later blog posts... but today I want to highlight the U-Pick listing, meant for those who want to create their own variety pack of 6,8, or 10 cards, or to order 6, 8, or 10 notecards all of the same design. 

With 88 designs to choose from, there are so many ways to create the perfect, personal set of stationery! Choose your favorite colors, or favorite patterns. Select colors that mean something to you, or that represent your school, university, or organization. All of my patterns have names - maybe you'll even find a pattern with a name you love, or one that features your own name! The four-digit codes next to each design make it easy to ensure you're selecting exactly which design you want, and to help me keep track of orders.

8x10 Pattern Watercolor Collection

Over the years, I've created lots of patterned watercolor paintings. Many are smaller in size (5"x7" or 4"6" - which I often frame as sets together with other similar small watercolors), but several are a slightly larger 8"x10" size as well. I recently bought several 11"x14" frames, matted down to 8"x10", and framed all of the 8"x10" pattern paintings I've made.

As you can see, I try to make a variety of patterns, and use a variety of color schemes, so there's something for everyone to enjoy! I love looking at these finished paintings - I find them very meditative to look at, and I love that they're completely abstract and non-representational (but if you stare at them long enough, sometimes you can see things in the patterns after all)!

I have plans for more patterned watercolor paintings (of course), but now that I have 20 finished 8"x10" patterned paintings, I thought it would be nice to look back at them all as a series, to see how they look together (so far). :)
