This 8"x10" watercolor painting is called "Pattern Xaria in Black and Red" and features... you guessed it! A black and red color scheme!
I designed the pattern in Adobe Illustrator, then traced it onto watercolor paper and began painting.
In this photo you can see how the pigment appears darker while it's still wet. Watercolor always dries lighter than it looks when you first paint it.
Once complete, I took some more photos for good measure, while the painting remained taped to the table until it was dry.
