To create this drawing I used this as a source photograph:

I took this photograph on my honeymoon in 2011 on the Greek island of Santorini. I added more depth to the blue sky background on the colored pencil version (blending streaks of medium blue and lighter blue together), played up the contrast of the shadows on the hibiscus petals, and lightened some of the leaves to a lighter, brighter green.
