For those Michiganders who live in the Lower Peninsula (which is most of us), I have a series of four paintings that use patterns to outline Michigan's southern half.
These are all available for purchase through my Etsy shop! (Click on the links below to go to individual pages.)
These will all be at the Paint Creek Center for the Arts Holiday Art Market in downtown Rochester from Nov 14 - Dec 23, 2015. Any that are not sold will be relisted on my Etsy shop, but for the span of the show I'm deactivating the Etsy listings, so if you try the link and it doesn't work - that's why!
"Water Under the Bridge" -
"Summer Under the Bridge" -
"Rust Under the Bridge" -
"Bruises Under the Bridge" -
Each of these paintings is 8"x10" in size, and watercolor on paper. For the technique, I used an experimental method of mixing and sprinkling sugar on the wet painting to add an interesting texture.
The name refers to Lower Peninsula of Michigan being "Under the Mackinac Bridge." The words water, summer, rust, and bruises refer to the color palette of each painting.
Here are all four displayed together -
These would make great holiday gifts for the Michiganders on your list! Check out all of my Michigan-themed artwork here.
And visit the Paint Creek Center for the Arts Holiday Art Market! The opening is Saturday, Nov 14 from 5 - 8:30 pm, and the show will be up until Dec. 23 - great for purchasing last minute holiday gifts.
Each of these watercolors goes for $49 (+ tax) and includes an 11"x14" white Crescent mat and mat backing suitable for framing.
